Obituary: Ann D. Stringer

Funeral service for Ann D. Stringer, age 91, of Cullman, will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Stringer officiating and interment in Etha Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. prior to the service.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She passed away on August 16, 2021, surrounded by her children. She was born Monday, July 21, 1930 in Birmingham, Alabama to George C. and Aileen Duke.

Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, she spent the latter part of her life in Cullman, Alabama, where she and her husband owned Stringer Rebuilt Starters & Alternators. She was a long-time member of Center Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years: William Aubra Stringer; parents: George and Aileen Duke; brother: George D. Duke; sister; Betty Chandler and brother: Robert Duke.

She is survived by her four children: Garry Stringer (Bonnie Stanley), Deborah Ann “Sissy” Warnick, Sharon (Jack) Bankston and Stephen (Denise) Stringer; nine grandchildren: Amy Warnick, Jaime Stringer, Karen (Shane) Harpole, Adam Warnick, Jonathan (Brittany) Bankston, Joey (Kayla) Stringer, Jordan (Kari) Bankston, Justin (Kathryn) Stringer and Luke Stringer; 11 great-grandchildren: Logan Warnick, Alexis Warnick, Savannah Stringer, Hannah Bankston, Ryan Bankston, Leah Bankston, Grayson Warnick, Tanner Bankston, Aubrey Harpole, Olivia Bankston and Shepherd Stringer and a host of nieces and nephews.
