HANCEVILLE Ala. – Industries and businesses in Hanceville will host a job fair Friday, July 23 from 10 a.m – 2 p.m. at the Hanceville Civic Center. Hanceville Mayor Kenneth Nail announced at the city council meeting Thursday night that the city will help sponsor the event.

Nail said, “Birmingham Fasteners came to us yesterday and they need some people to work. I know that Hanceville Nursing and Rehab needs people to work so most of our larger companies in Hanceville need people to work.”

Although there have been recent job fairs in Cullman over the past several months, the Hanceville industries often get “knocked out” by the larger industries. Nail said, “This is a job fair just for Hanceville–for Hanceville industries and Hanceville businesses.”

In other business, the Hanceville City Council voted to vacate easements between lots 11 and 12 in the Forest View Subdivision

The council approved, allowing Mayor Nail to sign all documents related to the closing of the Ward property.

The city agreed to surplus a truck used by Hanceville Park and Recreation and replace it.

The next Hanceville City Council meeting will be Thursday, July 22, at 5:30 p.m. in Hanceville City Hall.
