PREP SOFTBALL: 5 local teams preparing for Regional Tournaments

CULLMAN Ala. – This year’s area tournaments are officially in the books and there are still five local teams preparing to continue their postseason runs at Regional Tournaments this week. Holly Pond, West Point and Cullman will head to Florence for the North Regional, Good Hope will travel to Montgomery to compete in the East Regional and Cold Springs will be in Tuscaloosa to play in the West Regional.

The Lady Broncos and Lady Warriors each won their respective area tournaments last week while Good Hope, Cold Springs and Cullman finished as runner-ups in their respective areas to advance. West Point and the Lady Bearcats will both hit the field Wednesday at noon to take on Jasper and East Limestone respectively and Holly Pond will play its first North Regional game against East Lawrence Friday at 9 a.m. The Lady Eagles will hit the field in Tuscaloosa Thursday at 9 a.m. to face Lamar County and the Lady Raiders will be in action in Montgomery Friday at 10:45 a.m. against Etowah.

2A West Regional, Tuscaloosa, Ala. – (17-12) Cold Springs v. (19-20) Lamar County – Thursday at 9 a.m.

3A North Regional, Florence, Ala. – (20-9) Holly Pond v. (16-15) East Lawrence – Friday at 9 a.m.

4A East Regional, Montgomery, Ala. – (13-17) Good Hope v. (28-8) Etowah – Friday at 10:45 a.m.

5A North Regional, Florence, Ala. – (23-18-2) West Point v. (23-14-1) East Limestone – Wednesday at noon

6A North Regional, Florence, Ala. – (32-15-1) Cullman v. (10-2-1) Jasper – Wednesday at noon
