VINEMONT, Ala. – The Cullman Area Technology Academy (CATA) Horticulture faculty and students are ready to put their green thumbs on display as they gear up for their annual plant sale at the CATA greenhouse, 17640 U.S. Highway 31 in Vinemont.

According to Horticulture teacher Pete Moore, the sale will feature bedding plants, hanging baskets and vegetable plants including:

  • Marigolds
  • Impatiens
  • Petunias
  • Geraniums
  • Lantanas
  • Tomatoes
  • Peppers
  • Squash
  • Cucumbers
  • Cabbage
  • Kale
  • Lettuce

The sale will benefit the CATA Horticulture Department. Students in Moore’s program have the opportunity to gain technical credentials in Landscape Management and Turf Management, and the proud teacher said that all of the students in his current class who have taken credential exams have passed.

Moore told The Tribune about the plants featured in the greenhouse sale, “The kids, they’ve done all the planting and watering, and looking after things. The kids did a good job. They always do.”
