Hanceville talks March 13 Irish Festival

HANCEVILLE, Ala. – The Hanceville City Council met Thursday evening with a light agenda, discussing the Hanceville Irish Festival, which  is planned for Saturday, March 13.

Festivities will kick off at 9 a.m. in downtown Hanceville and will feature traditional Irish music from musical acts Black Market Haggis, A Shamrock in Kudzu, O’Toole Brothers and David Boling. Also returning will be the O’Faolain Academy of Irish Dance Alabama. 

The council approved the appointment of Sammy Parker to Place 1 on the Industrial Development Board. The six-year term will begin March 1. Elaine Perkins was reappointed to Place 5 on the Industrial Development Board, also for a six-year term. 

The next council meeting will be March 11, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. at Hanceville City Hall.
