BREMEN, Ala. – One person was killed and one injured in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Alabama Highway 69 and County Road 54 Wednesday afternoon.

Cullman County Coroner Jeremy L. Kilpatrick confirmed Christopher Shane Dill, 29, of Jasper, who was operating a 2004 Mack cement truck, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which happened at approximately 3:25 p.m.

The driver of the other vehicle, a Chevrolet Silverado, was airlifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

According to Alabama State Troopers, Dill was fatally injured when his truck struck the Silverado. Troopers said the driver of the Silverado failed to yield the right of way and made a left turn in front of the cement truck.

Troopers said neither driver was wearing a seat belt.

Responding to the scene were members of the Cold Springs Volunteer Fire Department, Cullman County Sheriff’s Office and Alabama State Troopers, along with Cullman EMS.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
