VINEMONT, Ala. –  The Vinemont Town Council on Tuesday evening continued its discussion on the disc golf course being built at the town’s park. The course was approved previously by the council, which is working with a course designer to decide on placement of the baskets.

While no date of completion has been given for the project, course designer Jason LeCompte said he was “pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the space is,” according to Councilman Chris Thompson, who added, “This is exciting. This is a new and growing sport that anybody can do. It’s very popular. I plan to do add new trees and obstacles myself. It’s going to be a great course.”

The council also renewed its lease agreement with Vinemont Girl Scout Troop 10288. The lease for the community center is for one year, with no charge to the troop, only a cleaning fee if the Town has to clean the building after the troop’s use.

The Vinemont Town Council meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at Vinemont Town Hall.
