PREP FOOTBALL: Hanceville falls to Locust Fork at home 38-7

HANCEVILLE, Ala.- The Hanceville Bulldogs welcomed the Locust Fork Hornets on homecoming, the Hornets spoiled homecoming for the Bulldogs 38-7. After both teams punted on their opening possession the Hornets struck first to take a 6-0 lead late in the first quarter. Hanceville answered right back with a long drive capped off by an 18-yard pass from Bo Joles to Dylan Twilley to put the Bulldogs ahead 7-6 early in the second quarter. Locust found the endzone two more times to give them a 20-7 led and was driving looking to add to their led before halftime when Trevor Shadden put a stop to the drive when he intercepted the Hornets pass, keeping the score 20-7 at halftime.

Coming out of halftime Hanceville went three and out then the Hornets scored on their first play of the possession, stretching the led to 28-7. From there the Hornets never looked back. With a heavy dose of the run game the Hornets chewed up clock and was able to take on 10 more points giving them a 38-7 victory over Hanceville.

The Bulldogs will have to regroup and prepare to travel to Oneonta for a region matchup this week.
