ALICEVILLLE, Ala. – Cold Springs made the long trip to Aliceville to take on the Yellow Jackets Friday night and despite jumping out to an early lead, the Eagles were unable to keep pace and fell to Aliceville 40-7 to pick up their first loss of the season.

Running back Ayden Alexander put Cold Springs on top 7-0 in the first quarter with a 3-yard touchdown run but that was all the scoring the Eagles would muster Friday night. Aliceville tied things up at 7 on the ensuing possession and after a mostly scoreless second quarter, the Yellow Jackets found the end zone again with just 23 seconds left before the break to go into the half with a 14-7 lead.

Aliceville scored again late in the third quarter to move ahead 20-7 and tacked on another touchdown just before the start of the fourth to go up 28-7 and begin to pull away. The Yellow Jackets added two more scores in the final period to put things away and send the Eagles home with their first loss of the season, 40-7.

Cold Springs falls to 3-1 on the season with the loss but will be back home next week to face Falkville.
