BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB football game at Miami, which was originally scheduled for September 17, has been changed to Thursday, September 10, the two universities announced Thursday.

The date change comes in coordination with the ACC announcing its complete slate, which features a 10-game conference schedule plus one non-conference game. The Blazers were able to move the game up a week due to Alabama A&M dropping off the schedule, and now look to fill a Week 3 opponent.

UAB and Miami will meet on the gridiron for the first time, and the Blazers aim to defeat their first ACC opponent in program history. The game on Sept. 10 will be UAB’s second game of the season and is Miami’s season opener.

The Blazers have 13 players on the roster from the state of Florida, including six from the Miami area (Kristopher Moll, LJ Smith III, Lucious Stanley, Mi’Cario Stanley, Kadeem Telfort and Austin Watkins Jr.).

Moll and Watkins Jr. are two of 18 total returning starters to a team that aims for its third straight Conference USA West Division title in 2020. These two were both on preseason national watch lists for their respective positions and lead the winningest team in C-USA since The Return in 2017.

Season tickets for 2020 are on sale starting as low as $75 with the Family Four Pack. Blazer Boosters members and current season ticket holders will have top priority for Protective Stadium entering 2021. Click here to purchase season tickets.
