GOOD HOPE, Ala. – The Ultimate Fair, originally scheduled to be in Good Hope in April, will now bring its midway to the city July 28- Aug. 1, 2020. Owner Maria Pearson spoke to the Good Hope City Council Monday night about procedures the group will implement to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19. Guests will have their temperatures taken prior to entering the fair and multiple sanitizing stations will be located throughout the midway.

The fair will take place on the vacant land near Hathcock Road and County Road 437 and will feature at least 25 rides, according to Pearson, as well as games, food and other attractions.

Members of The Saints Motorcycle Club were at Monday night’s council meeting and were thrilled to report that their recent Miracle Ride raised more than $11,000 for the Miracle League.

Brandi Evans, who spoke on behalf of The Saints, said, “This money goes just to pay registration fees for these kids and these adults. This is not the only benefit we do, but it is our biggest. We also do a Christmas charity and a breast cancer charity.”

The Saints Motorcycle Club is located in Good Hope, and Evans added, “We’d really like to help Good Hope with different things and whatever you have going on.”

Councilman Maxie Jones reported that construction of the new Doss Road Bridge is expected to begin in August. The bridge will be a County project; the old one-lane bridge with a two-lane bridge.
