CULLMAN, Ala. – One person was killed and two injured in a two-vehicle crash in the southwest part of the city of Cullman Saturday afternoon. Cullman County Coroner Jeremy L. Kilpatrick has identified the victim as Kerry Wayne Franklin, II, 31, of Cullman.

Cullman Police Department Traffic Homicide Investigator, Sgt. Joey Duncan said the incident happened around 3:15 p.m. at the intersection of 24th Street Southwest and Golf Course Road.

“A Ford Windstar minivan was traveling west on 24th Street Southwest and a GMC Yukon was traveling northbound on Golf Course Road. They collided in the intersection,” said Duncan.

Franklin, the driver of the Windstar, was pronounced dead at the scene.

He said the passenger in the Windstar was taken to UAB Hospital in Birmingham by helicopter.

Duncan said the driver of the Yukon was not injured, but a passenger was transported to Cullman Regional.

No other identities have been released.

“The investigation is ongoing,” said Duncan.
