HANCEVILLE, Ala. – Wallace State Community College will host an open house Tuesday, Feb. 25 from 4:30-7:30 p.m., providing prospective students and their parents the opportunity to learn more about the college, its programs, admission procedures, financial aid, and more.
“This will be our second time hosting an open house in advance of the fall semester,” said Dr. Ryan Smith, dean of students. “We welcomed more than 600 students and parents to campus last year, and we anticipate at least that many at this year’s event.”
The open house is held to give anyone with an interest in enrolling at the college the chance to meet with program directors, get information about how to apply to the college and/or specific programs, how to apply for financial aid, important dates to remember and more.
The event will begin at 4:30 p.m., with registration at the Student Center. Participants will pick up welcome bags before entering the Betty Leeth Haynes Theatre for the 5 p.m. welcome by Wallace State administration and staff.
From 5:30-6:30, visitors will be able to visit programs around campus in all divisions: Academics, Applied Technologies, Health Science and STEM. Buses will be available to various locations.
Breakout sessions will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Student Center, where visitors can meet with representatives from Admissions, Financial Aid, Advising, Dual Enrollment/Fast Track, Student Engagement, and more.
Visitors will be served Free Chick-fil-A sandwiches at 7:30, also in the Student Center.
“We are pleased to offer this opportunity to community members within our service area,” said Smith. “Whether they are in high school approaching graduation or an adult in need of a change in their situation, we welcome everyone to attend open house.”
