CULLMAN, Ala. – A fire Tuesday morning heavily damaged a home in the 900 block of Avenue D Southeast in the city of Cullman.

Cullman Fire Rescue Chief Brian Bradberry said his department was called out at approximately 8 a.m.

“The home did receive heavy fire damage,” said Bradberry, who said Cullman Fire Marshal Chris Chaffin is investigating. “There were no injuries reported.”

Bradberry said the fire was under control after an hour, but the weather made it tough.

“With the wind, it was a pretty challenging fire,” he said. “It took at least an hour before we felt comfortable calling it under control.”

Firefighters remained on the scene midday Tuesday.

“We’re just thankful no one got hurt and we’re in prayer for those who lost their house, especially right here at the holidays,” said Bradberry.

The Red Cross has been called in to assist the victims.

Donations are also being collected for the family. If you’d like to help, call 256-260-5096.
