Funeral services for David Joseph Sandlin, 68, of Cullman, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2019 at Sacred Heart Church with Father Patrick Egan, OSB, officiating; burial at Round Top Cemetery, Falkville, AL.
Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Sandlin passed away Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019 at his residence. He was born May 19, 1951 to the late Alton T. and Rosemary T. Schaefer Sandlin of Cullman, AL.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Rosemary T. Chaney.
Survivors include his wife Labrenda Sandlin; son Joshua A. Sandlin; step-son Ronald Keith Hollis; step-daughter Candace (Steve) Baird; brothers Alton (Deborah) Sandlin, Peter A. Sandlin, James Dan Sandlin and Paul A. Sandlin; sisters Celestine A. (Matthew) Chappel, Regina R. (Wayne) Hays and Mary Alice Sandlin; uncle Gerald (Barbara) Sandlin; aunt Ruth Roberson; grandchildren Taylor Driver, Emma-Leigh Sandlin, Brittany Hopkin, Stevie Lynn Wilkson and Drew Anna Hollis; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Mr. Sandlin served six years in the United State Army before joining the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office. He retired as a captain after 35 years of service to our community.
In lieu of flowers we are asking for donations to the following charities: St. Vincent De Paul, Sacred Heart elementary endowment fund and /or any cancer fund charity.
Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, 2019 at Sacred Heart Church, rosaries to follow.
