BRILLIANT, Ala. – After suffering a tough loss on the road at Sumiton Christian a week ago, the Tigers were back on the road this week to take on Brilliant and try to pick up their first win of the season. Unfortunately for Meek fans, the homestanding Tigers finished on top, defeating Meek 30-6.

The Meek Tigers were in the game early, falling behind 6-0 at the start of the first quarter but responding to the tie game at 6 after that. Brilliant kept Meek off the scoreboard the rest of the way, though, scoring again early in the second quarter to make it 14-6 and tacking on another one just before the half to extend the lead to 22-6 at the break.

After a scoreless third quarter, Brilliant found the end zone one more time early in the fourth to stretch its lead to 30-6 and pulled away to beat the Tigers by that final score.

The road loss drops Meek to 0-7 on the season, and although the postseason appears to be officially out of reach for the Tigers, they still have a chance to finish their final three games strong. They’ll be back home next week to take on Pickens County.
