CULLMAN, Ala. – Dreher’s Cocktail Bar & Restaurant will celebrate its grand opening Tuesday, Sept. 17. Located next door to A Touch of German at 216 First Ave. SE, Cullman, the new restaurant is owned by Joseph Fisher, Kolby Lawrence and Christine Chamblee.

The restaurant’s 1920s decor will take you back to Cullman’s early years. The building is named for the Dreher family who owned and operated a furniture store at that location.

The original structure burned in the late 1800s, and Dreher’s aims to honor that history.

“Dreher’s Old Fashioned is a smoky old fashioned as a nod to that event. Our goal is to breathe new life into the Dreher name,” said Manager Madi Rocks.

The menu offers a variety of appetizers and entrees, along with a great selection of draft beers and signature cocktails.

Dreher’s had a soft opening this week, and so far, business has been good, as well as the feedback.

Executive Chef Cooper Ramsey, who has worked in several successful restaurants in Birmingham, including Highlands Bar & Grill, is heading up the Dreher’s kitchen.

Rocks said the restaurant’s cocktails contain more liquor than those from other bars and the prices are quite reasonable, sharing, “Another goal was to make this a place for everybody to enjoy a meal and not break the bank.”

Dreher’s will be open Tuesday-Thursday from 4-11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m.-11 p.m.

Chamblee said she is ready for the grand opening.

“I am really excited,” she said. “The soft opening has gone well, but we have a few kinks to work out. Each night has gotten better and better.”
