Here are some events going on around Cullman this weekend.
Friday, Sept. 13
2nd Fridays – September 13
5-10 p.m. at the Festhalle and Depot Park
The last 2nd Fridays of 2019 is right around the corner, and it’s going to be an AWESOME end to the year! You may recognize him from American Idol or from a show around the area, Brandon Elder Music will be on the DQ Grill & Chill Stage bringing 2nd Fridays to a rockin’ close! You won’t want to miss it!
Also, Depot Park will be taken over by the 2nd Fridays Fling It Like You Mean It Cornhole Tournament. This will be a double elimination tournament with both a competitive and social bracket, and cash prizes for the top three teams of both divisions. So, come get some practice for tailgating season with us!
Other activities include: live music from JED Eye and Cotton Bird, Antique and Classic Car Cruise-In, Kids’ Zone, Artist Alley, Farm Y’all Cullman, Festhalle Farmers Market, featuring a mechanical bull, food demos, food trucks and extended hours in the Cullman Warehouse District.
Admission to 2nd Fridays is absolutely free, but don’t forget to support local eateries, vendors, merchants, artist and farmers! We encourage attendees to bring their own chairs, as well, for your comfort. Let’s end 2nd Fridays season with a bang!

Saturday, Sept. 14
2nd Annual Flourish of Cullman Putting F-O-R-E Independence Golf Tournament
The second annual Flourish of Cullman Putting F-O-R-E Independence Golf Tournament is this Saturday, Sept. 14 at Cross Creek Golf Course. All proceeds will benefit Flourish of Cullman, Inc., a local nonprofit that assists and empowers people with disabilities to live and work as independently as possible.
Tournament registration begins at 7 a.m. with the 4-man scramble teeing off at 8 a.m. The cost is $75 a person for four-member teams or $300 for a whole team. Registration includes a bucket of range balls.
A lunch of pulled pork sandwiches, chips and soda or beer will be provided.

83rd Annual Meeting of the Cullman Electric Cooperative
Northbrook Baptist Church, starting at 8 a.m. Registration and activities will conclude at 11 a.m., at which time the business meeting will begin in the church sanctuary. Co-op members who attend the meeting will receive a $15 power bill credit and be entered to win the grand prize drawing for a 2003 Ford Ranger truck. Members who register — either by mail or at the meeting — will be included in a drawing for one of 10 power bill credits worth $100, $250 or $500.
Co-op members and their guests can enjoy a variety of free activities from 8-11 a.m.: free hot dogs, drinks and popcorn; Cullman Regional health fair; Inflatables, rides, arts & crafts and other activities for children; Bucket truck photo booth with Cullman EC linemen
The Freemans will be in concert starting at 9 a.m. inside. Avenue G Band will perform starting at 9 a.m. outside.
Three positions on the co-op Board of Trustees are up for election. Board member Sheila Sizemore is running against Kathy Scruggs in District 2. James Fields (District 4) and Daryl Calvert (District 6) are running unopposed.
BBB/AARP Shred Day
Cullman Shred Day is Saturday, Sept. 14 from 9 a.m.-noon at the King Edward Plaza Shopping Center. The address is 2nd Ave. SW, Cullman, AL.

Cullman City Police Department will be on-site accepting prescription drugs to dispose of properly.
