Funeral services for Wayne Lewis, 69, of Hanceville, will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2019 in the Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation for family and friends will be noon, Monday July 1, 2019 at the Funeral Home. Reverend Harce Swann will officiate. Mr. Lewis will be laid to rest at the Damascus Cemetery, Hanceville.
Mr. Lewis, who preferred to be called Wayne had been in law enforcement. He is survived by his wife Christine Lewis, two sons, Jerremy (Melanie) Lewis, and Scottie Lewis. He leaves five grandchildren, Stacy Welborn, Courtney Lewis, Jessie Lewis, Nathan Smitherman and Logan Smitherman, one great grandchild, Addilyn Welborn, three brothers, Bobby (Leesa) Lewis, Ralph (Sherry) Lewis and Dale Lewis, a sister-in-law Shirley Cates and brother-in-law Don Cates. Mr. Lewis is predeceased by his son Jason Lewis and his parents Ralph and Lena Bernell Lewis.
