On Monday, June 24, 2019, Harry William Collins, 85, of Cullman, AL, went to be with the Lord.
He was survived by his wife of 53 years, Carrie Lee Collins, and by his children, Buddy and Debbie Gilbert of Birmingham, AL, John and Lesley Klem of Milford, NH, Steve and Polly Brooks of Kerrville, TX, and Antoinette Mitchell of Cullman, AL; grandchildren, James and Deliska Bates, Brian and Crystal Bevis, Michelle Gilbert, Trevor Gilbert, Alyssa Klem, Kevin and Tina Kelcey, Mark Brooks, Stuart Brooks and Tina Brandon, Steve and Rachel LeDoux, and Arrie Mitchell; great-grandchildren Brandon, Ryan, Seth, Jewel, Jeffery, Andrew, Stephen, Kaitlyn, Katie, Sean, Emilie, and Karma.
Predeceased by parents Julian Anthony and Sadie Beatrice Stephenson Collins. Predeceased by brother and sisters JC Collins, Christine Hooper, and Jean Kaye Wilson. Survived by brothers and sisters, Donald (Ralph) and Mary Collins, Betty Clark, Tommy and Sandra Collins, Barbara Wilson, Robert and Debbie Collins, Mike and Eddie Lee Smith, and many, many nieces and nephews.
Harry served his country in the United States Navy from 1952-1960. Family was the most important thing in his life. Harry loved everyone whether related or by choice. He loved a good joke and Alabama football – Roll Tide!
Services and visitation will be held at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home in Cullman, AL Friday, June 28, 2019. Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m., with services beginning at 2 p.m.
