DODGE CITY, Ala. – Dodge City’s annual festival, Dodge City Day, took place Saturday despite the rainy weather. Activity buzzed all around town hall with raffles for door prizes at the senior center, gospel group Genesis performing in the community center and several vendors setting up around town hall and near Life Church.

The local Girl Scout Troop handed out barbecue lunches at the senior center, while outside, children hopped the day away on the bouncy houses set in front of the church. While some played, some were entertained by a clown who made toy balloons. Lakeside Pharmacy held a storewide sale for the festival.

Dodge City Mayor Tawana Canada smiled, “Considering the rain, we had a good day, and our seniors always have a good day. I was disappointed that we didn’t have more vendors out, but the gospel group Genesis had a larger turnout.”

Canada thanked everyone for their help, saying, “Thank you everybody who participated. It took a lot of work to get this and we have a good staff and a lot of help.”
