CULLMAN, Ala. – Libraries around Cullman County have special reading programs geared toward kids this summer. Here’s a look at what’s going on around the area.
Cullman County Public Library (200 Clark St. NE, Cullman)
The Cullman County Public Library is hosting different educational programs every week during June and July as part of its annual summer reading program. Events start at 10 a.m., with lunch served at 11:30.
- Tuesday, June 11 – Mr. Larry’s Magic Show, “3-2-1 Blast Off”
- Wednesday, June 12 – Origami with Yasu Ishida, the Magic Story Artist
- Tuesday, June 18 – “Out-of-This-World Tales” with Laurel the Balloon Lady
- Wednesday, June 19 – Lew’s UFO Show (magic, juggling, puppetry)
- Tuesday, June 25 – Rick Rakestraw’s live animal show
- Wednesday, June 26 – Touch a Truck with the Cullman Electric Cooperative
- Tuesday, July 9 – Alabama Archives, The Traveling Trunk
- Tuesday, July 16 – Hunter Ivey’s snake show
- Tuesday, July 23 – “The Final Frontier” with the McWane Center
“Summer library fun kicked off today,” Cullman County Public Library Director Sharon Townson said Wednesday afternoon. “It was a packed library today with 125 attendees.”

Programs begin at 2 p.m. every Thursday, except for the 4th of July.

The Hanceville Library has summer reading programs every Wednesday in June at 10 a.m.
