The Wacked Out Weiner soft opening is Thursday, June 6. The restaurant opens at 11 a.m.
CULLMAN, Ala. – The Wacked Out Weiner is coming to Cullman. The restaurant serves, you guessed it, hot dogs. It will be located at 1930 Market Platz Ctr. SW, in the same strip as Rock N Roll Sushi.
Lori Gortemoller, who owns the franchise with Bo and Jennifer Winfrey, of Cullman, said the restaurant will be open by the end of May.
“Our goal is mid-May, definitely by the end of May,” said Gortemoller.
Gortemoller said in addition to the storefront, there will also be a Wacked Out Weiner food truck.
“We’re really excited about it. We think Cullman is a perfect place for it. We can really get involved with the community and do stuff,” she said. “There’s so much we can do with the food truck. That’s kind of our goal, really, just to have fun.”
The Wacked Out Weiner opened in Foley, Alabama in 2016. Gortemoller said the Cullman store will be the 11th store opened since last year.
“It’s like a Subway for hot dogs and nachos,” she said. “There’s over 40 toppings. You can get as little or as much as you want for one price on the hot dogs.”
Toppings for the hot dogs, sausage or Nathan’s all beef, include homemade chili, shredded cheese, chopped onions, hot chow chow, sweet chow chow, coleslaw, jalapenos, banana peppers, Rotel tomatoes, bacon, sweet relish, jalapeno relish, dill pickles, kraut, melted cheese, mac and cheese, barbecue baked beans, yellow mustard, spicy mustard, ketchup, mayo, barbecue sauce, hot dog sauce, cayenne pepper, celery salt and sour cream.
