HOLLY POND – Fairview collected four road wins over the Holly Pond Broncos Monday night, starting with the junior varsity girls' matchup.

Fairview 25, Holly Pond 24 (junior varsity girls)

Both teams played to a 7-7 tie after one quarter, but the Lady Broncos outscored the Lady Aggies 7-1 in the second period to take a 14-8 lead into the half. A very low-scoring third quarter saw Fairview trim the deficit to just three at 16-13. Layups by Holly Pond's Quincey Marks and Kaylee Stallings pushed the Lady Broncos' lead to 20-13, but Makayla Latham helped kick-start the Lady Aggie offense on a 7-0 run that helped tie the game at 20.

Four quick points by Raeleigh Olinger gave Holly Pond a 24-20 lead, but Latham struck right back as she scored five straight points, including a three with 40 seconds remaining, to give the Lady Aggies a 25-24 lead. Their defense stood tall and helped them get the big win on the road.

Latham finished the game with 17 points for Fairview. Stallings finished with 10 points, while Olinger added nine for Holly Pond.

Fairview 58, Holly Pond 39 (junior varsity boys)

Fairview and Holly Pond traded baskets for most of the first quarter. Jack Brown finished with seven points in the opening period for the Aggies as they took a 14-12 lead into the second quarter. Casey Brown led the way with seven in the frame as well for Holly Pond. The second quarter was closely contested, and the Aggies took a 25-20 lead into the locker room.

After Holly Pond quickly tied the game at 25 to start out the second half, it was all Fairview after that as the Aggies went on a 16-0 run to pull away from the Broncos and go on to take the game in convincing fashion.

Owen Yarbrough finished with 20 points, eight rebounds and three steals for Fairview. Payton Bailey added 11 points, while Preston Ryan (seven rebounds and a steal) and Brown (three steals) each ended up with 10 points.

Brown led the way for Holly Pond with 19 points, while Landon Perkins added 10 points.

(4-2) Fairview 50, (1-2) Holly Pond 36 (varsity girls)

The first quarter saw Holly Pond take a 12-10 lead over Fairview in the game and the Lady Aggies took over the second period as they outscored the Lady Broncos 15-8 to take a 25-20 lead into the half.

Holly Pond looked to get their offense going in the third period, but every time they got something going offensively, Fairview answered right back. After the Lady Broncos made it 32-26 on a Madison Heatherly shot, the Lady Aggies made it a double-digit lead on shots by Payton Golden and Isabella McGukin as they took a 36-26 lead into the fourth quarter.

Holly Pond couldn't quite get going offensively as Fairview's defense smothered the Lady Broncos and quickly ended any hopes of a Holly Pond comeback and went on to take the game by double figures, 50-36.

Eight different Lady Aggies found the scoring column, led by Molly McKelvy, who drilled five threes in the contest, to finish with 18 points and three steals. Golden added 11 points and a pair of steals. Katie Ball finished with five points and eight steals, while McGukin added five points and three steals of her own.

Elizabeth Miller finished with 13 points, seven rebounds, and five steals for Holly Pond, while Heatherly added 13 points and four rebounds.

(2-4) Fairview 55, (1-3) Holly Pond 38 (Varsity Boys)

Fairview got balanced scoring in the first quarter as four different players found the scoring column and the Aggie defense absolutely smothered Holly Pond's offense, holding the Broncos to just a Tyler Boatright layup and a pair of Jordan Allbright free throws, taking a 12-4 lead after one.

The Bronco offense awakened in the second frame, as an 8-2 run made it a 14-12 game, but the Aggies kept their lead for most of the period. However, the end of the quarter was all Holly Pond, as Boatright and Kyler Chaney scored the final six points and gave them a 23-22 lead at the half.

A 10-0 Fairview run to start off the second half helped the Aggies regain the lead and some much-needed momentum and, just like the first, the Aggies dominated on both sides of the court and outscored the Broncos 19-6 to take a 41-29 lead into the final period.

Holly Pond looked for a big run to start off the fourth, and led by Chaney and Boatright, the Broncos made it a 45-37 ballgame, but they couldn't get any closer as Fairview quickly pulled away, finishing the game on a 10-1 run to take the game by double figures, 55-38.

Sawyer Daniel led the way for Fairview with 19 points, 11 rebounds and a pair of steals. Dow Nichols wasn't far behind as he finished with 14 points and five rebounds. Austin Jackson drilled three treys off the bench to finish with nine points, three rebounds and two steals. Connor Tipton added eight points, seven rebounds and a steal. Fairview will take on Hanceville at home on Tuesday.

Boatright and Chaney (two steals) each finished with 16 points and seven rebounds for Holly Pond; the Broncos will face off against Good Hope at home on Thursday.
