PREP BASKETBALL: Raiders, Lady Aggies victorious

FAIRVIEW – It was all Good Hope as the Raiders invaded Joe Shults Gymnasium on the campus of Fairview High School Tuesday night.

In a fast and furious first, the Aggies kept it close in the early going but it soon got out of hand as Good Hope ended the quarter on a 15-2 run to take A 23-9 lead after one.

Play got chippy in the second when, after a Raider foul, Conner Guthrie of Fairview got tagged with a technical foul. With two shots and the ball, Good Hope fed on the momentum, continuing to pull away for a 42-25 halftime advantage.

The Raiders opened the second half with a 14-2 run on the strength of back-to-back-to-back 3-point buckets by Noah Findley. It was enough to prompt a Fairview timeout, but it could not slow down the Raiders, who pushed the advantage to 31; the fourth was played with a hot clock.

Good Hope took the win over the Aggies, 70-44.

Fairview 68, Good Hope 22 (Girls)

Just like the boys’ contest, the girls’ game ended with a hot clock, but it was the Lady Aggies who came out on top.

Thanks to a great press, Fairview jumped out to an early 22-5 lead and never looked back.

The Lady Aggies dominated the second quarter, nearly tripling the output of Good Hope and carrying a 41-12 lead into the locker room at the half.

The Lady Aggies pushed their lead to 45 in the third to make sure the fourth was a running clock.

Fairview took the game, 68-22.
