Wanted to say thank you to the people that came out to the rest area on I-65 on Saturday night.

I was greeted when I parked my truck from a lady that lives local now but was from Bloomington, Indiana (I also am from Indiana and on my way back home.)

They offered free food and water and (were) helping people with a place to stay at local churches.

I asked if they were from a church group and they said they were just a group of local people that decided to help out and most didn't know each other til they got out there. They had met on Facebook and wanted to help.

What a great way to help travelers.

I thanked them even though we didn't need any food or water and with my wife being handicapped sleeping on the floor or a cot wasn't going to work for us. But they were helping a lot of people thru a bad situation.

You have some good people living in your area.

      Larry Mayes
