CULLMAN – The St. Bernard Lady Saints' volleyball team hosted the Lady Lions of Lindsay Lane Christian Academy Tuesday night for a hard-fought match between two good teams.

The Lady Lions came away with the victory after winning the first three matches by scores of 25-13, 25-19 and 25-18.

Leading the way for the Lady Saints during the match Tuesday night was Ashley Duke, who finished the night with five aces and seven total points scored. Duke was St. Bernard's most effective server on the night, with Avy Whaley following close behind with three aces of her own.

Defensively, the Lady Saints got a good performance from Olivia Brown who came up with a big block in both the first and third games of the match. Emma Tafazoli was also involved in the scoring, with late kills in both the first and third matches.

Unfortunately, the standout performances were not enough to overcome the Lady Lions of Lindsay Lane. The Lady Saints look to bounce back later this week on the road against the Tanner Rattlers on Sept. 7.
