UPDATE 11:40 A.M.

The Cullman County Sheriff's Office confirms that they have cleared both crime scenes at this time, but that the investigation is ongoing. They believe that the driver of the vehicle has left the area.

Here's what we know from Sheriff Matt Gentry:

"We believe this was an isolated incident. The individuals knew each other, and the individual in the house was targeted by the two suspects. It was not random. We want the community to know they are safe. This was a targeted, isolated incident. We are unsure as to the motive, but we believe it was either an attempted assault or robbery."

Gentry says both crime scenes- the house where the shooting occurred and the car where the victim was found- have been cleared, but investigators are following up on leads to identify the driver of the vehicle.

The identities of the shooter and the victim are not being released at this time.
