CULLMAN – Reports are circulating that Academy Sports + Outdoors is opening a store in Cullman. A job posting on the company's website cites the location as "Lee Ave. & Hwy 69."
CEDA Assistant Director Dale Greer said, "I am under a confidentiality agreement. I can't say anything about it."
The Tribune reached out to Peggy Smith, director of the Cullman Economic Development Agency (CEDA), as well as Cullman Mayor Woody Jacobs, who both cited confidentiality agreements.
"Maybe we'll know something next week," Jacobs said.
Calls to the Academy Sports corporate office in Katy, Texas have not been returned.
