SEE UPDATE: Winter Weather Advisory issued for Cullman Co. beginning Friday at 3 p.m.

CULLMAN – The National Weather Service in Huntsville is forecasting light snow showers for Friday afternoon and evening, and calling for accumulation of less than half an inch in the Tribune coverage area.

According to the latest report, light snowfall will develop and move east across our area beginning as early as daybreak on Friday across northwest Alabama and continue through Friday evening across areas east of Interstate 65. A light accumulation is possible, with amounts up to half an inch.

Although widespread travel problems are not anticipated, minor impacts are possible. Travelers are urged to use caution on elevated roadways, bridges and overpasses.
