1 dead, 2 injured in multi-vehicle traffic incident near Johnson’s Crossing

Cullman County Coroner Jeremy L. Kilpatrick has identified the victim in tonight's fatal car crash as Steven Parris, 56, of Hanceville.


JOHNSON'S CROSSING – A multi-vehicle traffic incident tonight just north of Johnson's Crossing killed one person and sent two to area hospitals, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA). The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. on U.S. Highway 31 and County Road 616 near the Jet-Pep gas station.

Two people were taken to Cullman Regional Medical Center and one to Huntsville Hospital. One of the people taken to CRMC died.

Troopers with the ALEA, as well as Cullman County Sheriff's deputies, Hanceville Police officers, members of the Johnson's Crossing Volunteer Fire Department and Cullman Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene.

Further details, including the identities of those involved, will not be released at this time.
