Dyron’s Lowcountry to host dinner for Saint Bernard Prep

CULLMAN – Dyron’s Lowcountry in Mountain Brook, Alabama will host a Wine Dinner benefitting Saint Bernard Prep School, on Monday, Nov. 7 from 6-8 p.m.

Five courses will be prepared by Chef Randall Baldwin and paired with wines by Robby Colvin of International Wines. Tickets to the event are $100 per person and will benefit St. Bernard Prep School’s Scholarship Fund. Dyron Powell, the owner of the restaurant, graduated from Saint Bernard in 1991 and is a member of the board of directors of the prep school.

In June 2009, Dyron’s Lowcountry opened in Mountain Brook to share Dyron’s and his wife, Sonya's, love for the culinary offerings of the region. Joined by Baldwin, the restaurant focuses on serving the Birmingham community fresh food made with local ingredients. Dyron's Lowcountry is a place for those who wish to revisit their memories and refresh their pallets. It’s a place to enjoy the taste of authentic, unique food.

“It is a pleasure for me to do something for the school that changed my life,” Powell said. “Saint Bernard made me the person I am today and provided me with opportunities that I could not find in public school.”

Dyron Powell is married to Sonya (Cleghorn) Powell and has two children, Ethan (who will attend Saint Bernard next year) and Emma, who is currently attending Sacred Heart School in Cullman. He and his family have been very active in supporting the Cullman community by contributing to the Cullman City Parks and Recreation’s Dinner on First and supporting the Farm to Fork Dinner.
