Saint Bernard Jazz Combo performs for governor’s luncheon

Pictured: Saint Bernard Band Director, Ken Simpson received a special recognition award honoring the Saint Bernard Jazz Band from Assistant Commissioner James Myrick.  The students received a letter and gift from Gov. Bentley as a thank you for playing at this special event.

DECATUR – The Saint Bernard Jazz Combo performed Wednesday, Oct. 12 in Decatur, for the North Alabama Committee on the Employment of People with Disabilities to honor many people in Cullman, Lawrence, Limestone and Morgan Counties. 

This awards luncheon took place at the Turner Surles Center in Decatur. 

Members of the Jazz combo included the following:  Victor Fentanes, alto saxophone; Ben Swalley, tenor saxophone; Payton Johnson, flute; Dominic Pautler, euphonium; Garret Marti, piano; Manny Rocha, guitar; Avy Whaley, bass guitar and Isabella Cline, drums.
