CULLMAN – Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry and the Cullman County Sheriff's Rodeo Committee on Tuesday donated $15,500 to area schools. The presentations were made to Cullman County Schools Superintendent Shane Barnette and Cullman City Schools Superintendent Dr. Susan Patterson.

The donations are from the proceeds of the 2015 Sheriff's Rodeo and will be divided between the 31 schools in Cullman County who have special needs children.

"The Special Needs Rodeo is one of the highlights of the year for us at the sheriff's office. It's a great opportunity for the staff to be with the children and see the smiles and joy it brings," said Gentry.

The 2016 Cullman County Sheriff’s Rodeo will take place Dec. 8-10 at the Cullman County Agricultural Trade Center. The Special Needs Rodeo will take place on the 8th. The rodeo for the public will be the 9th and 10th, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. and the action starting at 7 p.m.

The Ag Center is located at 17645 U.S. Highway 31, Cullman, AL 35058.
