CULLMAN – Oxford and Cullman came out swinging in the first quarter, each scoring on their first two drives, but Oxford kept on the gas, defeating Cullman 52-28.

Though the Bearcats jumped out to a quick start, moving the ball effortlessly down the field in the team’s first drives, Oxford’s grinding mentality and offensive explosion by Tyetus Smith-Lindsey kept the pressure on Cullman all night.

Lindsey, who finished with five rushing touchdowns and well over 150 yards from scrimmage, dominated Cullman’s defense as the 5’6” sophomore weaved in and out of traffic.

Cullman came up with some late game turnovers; however, the Bearcats could not capitalize on the opportunities as Oxford stopped Cullman each time the team had possession.

Cullman’s Owen Lovell, Ross Crocker, Caden Winn, Fletcher Jennings and Dawson Drake tried to keep the Bearcats in the game. Oxford would not be stopped as they scored in every quarter of the game, including two shutout quarters, totaling 28 points, that propelled them to victory and keep their winning streak alive.

Next week the Cullman Bearcats are at Ft. Payne.
