HANCEVILLE – On Thursday, July 14, CNET agents with the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), along with law enforcement officers from Madison and Morgan Counties arrested James Daryl Hunt, 57, of Hanceville for possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

The operation that led to the arrest was executed on County Road 772 near Hanceville. CNET agents and deputies made entry into the residence and arrested Hunt, where they discovered 20 grams of ICE, a stronger and purer form of methamphetamine.

CCSO also seized a laptop computer and drug paraphernalia.

“Any time you can get that amount of meth off the streets before it makes it into our community that’s a good day," said Sheriff Matt Gentry. “I would also like to thank the CNET agents for the good job they did and also the officers from Madison and Morgan counties for their assistance in this case."

Hunt is currently being held in the Cullman County Detention Center with no bond.
