CLEVELAND – It was a rough Friday afternoon for the Vinemont Lady Eagles as they fell in three innings to the Cleveland Lady Panthers. Following one, two, three innings from Vinemont that saw the Lady Eagles strike out three times, the Lady Panthers went to work.

Carty got the Lady Panthers rolling with a four-pitch walk. She then swiped second and took third on a passed ball. Two pitches later she would cross the plate thanks to a fielder’s choice off the bat of Chesser. After an error on the left fielder, Aycock ripped a single through the first base hole and into eight field bringing home two. She would come home later in the inning on an RBI single by Lopez making the score 4-0 in favor of Cleveland after one.

The Lady Eagles picked up a pair of singles in the top of the second by Goble and Whatley but could not scratch across a run, bringing Cleveland back to the plate still up by four.

The Lady Panthers exploded at the dish in the second, sending 16 batters to the plate and scoring a whopping 13 runs. Every Cleveland hitter crossed the plate in the second. The offensive flurry was led by Aycock, Chesser and Falling, each with a pair of RBIs. Duckett, Lopez and Walker each added a single RBI, giving Cleveland a 17-0 advantage.

The Lady Eagles failed to score in the top of the third, ending the game via the mercy rule.
