Mountain View Baptist has been a great blessing to me. From the beginning, my wife and I noticed how loving and caring the church is, and not just to the church family, but to anyone in need.”

CULLMAN – From the moment you open Mountain View Missionary Baptist Church’s Facebook page, it is obvious the congregation loves its pastor, Dale Banks.

“We at Mountain View are so thankful for our pastor and his wife, Dale and Tammy Banks. God sent him and we chose him. We thank him for his spiritual leadership and guidance – our congregation is all the more blessed for it. We thank him for his selfless example -he gives of his time at a moment's notice to people from all walks of life and circumstances. Thank you for a myriad of wonderful qualities -your calm voice of reason and the courage of your faith and conviction steadfast and determined to see the best in everyone.”

Banks was born in Cullman to Michael and Carol Banks. He graduated from Cold Springs High School in 1984 and married his beautiful wife Tammy in April 1985. The couple has two sons and three grandchildren, with another grandchild on the way. When he’s not preaching, Banks works as the maintenance manager for American Tube Manufacturing in Pinson.

Banks has been the pastor at Mountain View for the past year and a half. Before that he was the pastor at Macedonia Baptist Church in the Cold Springs area for nearly thirteen years.

Banks said he was called by God to preach many years ago.

“I was saved on July 25, 1992, but I was raised in church as far back as I can remember,” he smiled warmly. “Not long after I was saved, God started calling me to preach. So after running from it for a while, I finally accepted my call in October 1993.

“The greatest challenge for me as a pastor is keeping the harmony and focus on Christ,” he continued. “To make sure the small things that do not matter, are not more important than our goal, which is to be a gospel church that brings glory to Jesus and leads the lost to him.”

He says the most rewarding part of being a pastor is watching the Lord working within his church family.

“I’m just a servant, but when someone is born again, the blessing of being in the presence of God’s saving grace is the best moment I can think of,” he beamed.

The members of Mountain View are dedicated to witnessing to the lost, helping those in need and encouraging the youth of the area to pursue positive actions and directions in their lives. The church has a special place in the hearts of those in the community around it.

“Mountain View Baptist has been a great blessing to me,” Banks explained. “From the beginning, my wife and I noticed how loving and caring the church is, and not just to the church family, but to anyone in need. The Lord has blessed this church for their love of his word and we have felt at home from day one.”

The church is located at 1890 County Road 438 in Cullman. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/Missionary2012.
