Suspect Leads CNET on Short Pursuit Ending with Apprehension

WHITE CITY – Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry confirmed a car chase involving CNET, Cullman County Sheriff’s Office, Hanceville PD and Cullman City PD has successfully ended in White City after beginning on Hwy 31 near Johnsons Crossing Thursday afternoon.  

“CNET officers had been observing the suspect. They spotted him driving a truck and attempted to pull him over and that is when the chase began,” Sheriff Gentry said. “The suspect led the officers on a short 15 minute pursuit before we were able to box him in.”

Gentry said the suspect, David Jerry Reynolds, 34, of Hanceville, crashed a blue Chevy S-10 pickup.

“Once he crashed, officers involved from all departments were able to box him in and detain him,” he said. “There were no injuries to the Mr. Reynolds or to any of the officers’ involved.”

Gentry said the quick response from CNET and all the other local law enforcement agencies made for a safe apprehension.

“I just want to thank all the police departments, Cullman, Hanceville and Sheriff’s Office for working with CNET to apprehended Mr. Reynolds,” he said.

David Jerry Reynolds is currently being held at the Cullman County Detention Center for a Federal Probation Violation. He has no bond.
