Cullman Police Officers Recognized for Service

CULLMAN – During the March 23 city council meeting, Captain Jeff Sanford and Sergeant Jeff Warnke were honored for their service to the city of Cullman’s Police Department. Their dedication and commitment to the protection of the people in Cullman were recognized and commended.

The two officers have reached milestones in their service to the Cullman Police Department. Capt. Sanford has served for 30 years and Sgt. Warnke for 20 years. These two officers are fine examples of the longevity and quality of staff that work for the city police department.

During the council meeting, Police Chief Kenny Culpepper and Assistant Chief Craig Green thanked them for their many years of dedicated service and commitment.

“A law enforcement agency is only as good as the men and women who serve in it,” said Kenny Culpepper. “These two officers are fine examples of the quality we have on staff.”

Mayor Townson and the city council reaffirmed the sentiments expressed by Chief Culpepper and Asst. Chief Green. They also expressed appreciation to Capt. Sanford and Sgt. Warnke for their service to the City of Cullman.

“Capt. Sanford and Sgt. Warnke are valuable assets to our law enforcement system,” said Mayor Townson. “It was a privilege to honor them for their service at the city council meeting, and the council and I encourage our citizens to express their appreciation to them – and to all of our law enforcement officers who work every day to protect and serve us all.”

The two dedicated men were celebrated and their accomplishments revered by all.

“I have watched these two fine men,” said James C. Fields Jr. “They have always been very professional on and off their job. God bless both of them and continue to protect them and their families.”

More supportive and endearing statements were heard all around the room.

“Two dedicated and caring police officers,” said DeAnn McDonald, “wonderful men all around. Congrats to you both!” 

The city of Cullman is lucky to have Capt. Sanford and Sgt. Warnke serving and protecting us. If you happen to see them out and about, make sure to congratulate them on their years of service and for keeping our town safe.
