HANCEVILLE, Ala. – Historic downtown Hanceville will be filled with fall colors, handmade treasures and the smell of festival food next month as the Mud Creek Arts & Crafts Festival returns for its 16th year.

The free festival is set for Saturday, Nov. 7, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. along Commercial Street, centered at 106 Commercial St. NE. Organized by Friends of the Festival, the event promises street vendors, arts, crafts, food and fun for the whole family.

Shoppers can stroll the street and browse booths filled with handmade goods and gifts. Past festivals have featured woodwork, jewelry, seasonal décor, handmade cutting boards, 3D-printed pieces, frozen candy treats and homemade foods, making it an easy place to get a jump on holiday shopping.

Food trucks and local eateries will keep visitors fed, and kids can burn off energy with bounce houses and other activities throughout the day.

Downtown merchants traditionally keep their doors open during the festival, giving visitors a chance to explore Hanceville’s shops along the way.

The Mud Creek Arts & Crafts Festival was created to bring more attention to Hanceville and its historic downtown, and it has grown into one of the city’s signature fall traditions.

There’s still time for local artists, crafters and businesses to take part. Vendor booths (10 feet by 10 feet) are $40. The festival is rain or shine, and vendors are asked to stay for the entire event unless they sell out.

Businesses can also support the festival through sponsorships ranging from $50 to $1,000. Sponsorships must be received by Sunday, Nov. 1, to be included on the sponsorship banner, and Silver sponsorships and above include free exhibit space.

Applications and payment can be mailed to Friends of the Festival, P.O. Box 600, Hanceville, AL 35077, or vendor fees can be paid through PayPal at www.paypal.me/FriendsOfTheFestival.
