Troopers in 1957. Throughout his years of service, he held several responsibilities, including
serving on security details for legendary University of Alabama football coach Bear Bryant and Governor George Wallace.

After retiring from the Alabama State Troopers, M.V. continued his working life as a security
officer at Americold and Walmart Distribution. Whether in uniform or in his later years, he
remained dedicated to his work and the people around him.

Outside of his professional life, M.V. found great joy in gardening and working on his farm. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends. He was a member of Berlin Baptist Church, Cullman Masonic Lodge, Alabama Peace Officers Association, American Association of State Troopers, and the Fraternal Order of Police.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ramey and Erdie Hall; his beloved wife, Barbara
Couch Hall; an infant child; and all of his siblings: Marie May, Minnie Duke, Bonnie Gorham,
Beatrice Estes, Marston Hall, James Hall, Bill Hall, and Bobby Hall.

sister-in-law, JoAnne Hall; grandchildren, Chelsea Wood, Whitney Franks (Jeremy), Ramey
Hall, Bryant Sparks (Jessica), and Kristen Sparks; and four great-grandchildren, Addie Wood, Elvie Wood, Emmett Franks, and Ellis Franks. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors who will remember him with love and gratitude.
