In Loving Memory of Jane Wilson
A Life of Faith, Love, and Service
Some people spend their lives making a living, while others spend their lives making a difference. Jane Wilson did both, but above all, she spent her life loving others.
Jane was born to Verda Lee and Guy Giles of Hanceville, Alabama. From an early age, she possessed a servant’s heart, a compassionate spirit, and a deep love for the Lord that would guide her throughout her life.
A devoted wife, extraordinary mother, and cherished grandmother, Jane’s greatest joy was always her family. She loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren, sharing sweet conversations, enjoying a little girl talk, and simply being together with the people she loved most. To Jane, it was never about grand occasions or extravagant things. It was about the precious moments spent together, the laughter shared, and the memories made.
Jane dedicated much of her life to the care and comfort of others. She proudly graduated as a member of the very first nursing class at Wallace State Community College, beginning what would become a remarkable career of compassion and service. She went on to own and operate The Dodson House, an assisted living facility, and served as Director of Nursing at Woodland Village.
But perhaps one of her most treasured roles was being known simply as “Nurse Jane.” For more than a decade, she cared for, comforted, and loved countless children. To so many families, she was much more than a nurse. She was a reassuring voice, a gentle hand, a warm smile, and a source of comfort when it was needed most. The number of lives she touched cannot be measured, and the love she gave will never be forgotten.
Jane had a remarkable gift for making people feel cared for. Whether she was tending to a patient, loving on her grandchildren, or sharing a conversation with family, she gave freely of herself. She was a woman of grace, strength, kindness, and unwavering faith.
Above all, Jane loved Jesus. Her faith was not simply something she spoke about; it was something she lived. She was truly a servant of the Lord, showing His love through her kindness, generosity, and the way she cared for everyone around her.
While our hearts are broken by her passing, we find immeasurable peace in knowing that Jane is now in the presence of the Savior she loved so dearly. Her work on earth is finished, her pain is gone, and she has received the greatest reward of all: eternal life in Heaven.
“Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:21
Jane leaves behind a legacy far greater than any title or accomplishment. Her legacy lives in the family she adored, the children she comforted, the patients she cared for, and the countless hearts she touched along the way.
She was a wonderful wife, an irreplaceable mother, a treasured grandmother, a beloved nurse, and, above all, a faithful child of God.
What a beautiful life she lived. What a difference she made. And what a glorious homecoming she has received.
Until we meet again, sweet Jane.
