FOLEY, Ala. – West Point earned a straight-set victory over Wetumpka and finished 1-3 against a strong field at the Labor Day Classic.
The Lady Warriors opened pool play Friday against Hernando. Hernando won the opening set 25-19 before edging West Point 26-24 in the second.
Fairhope defeated West Point 25-14, 25-20 in the Lady Warriors’ second Friday match.
West Point responded Saturday morning with its most decisive performance of the tournament. The Lady Warriors swept Wetumpka 25-12, 25-9, outscoring Wetumpka 50-21 across the two sets.
West Point advanced to the Gold Bracket and faced Gulf Shores at 10:30 a.m. Gulf Shores, identified as “GSHS Varsity”, eliminated the Lady Warriors 25-19, 25-20.
West Point finished the weekend with two set victories and six set losses.
