HANCEVILLE, Ala. – Hanceville put together its best day of the young season Saturday, winning four consecutive matches at the Hanceville Invitational.
The Lady Bulldogs opened the tournament at 10 a.m. with a 2-0 victory over Brindlee Mountain. Hanceville followed with another sweep at 11 a.m., defeating Asbury 2-0.
Cleveland pushed Hanceville to three sets in the noon match, but the Lady Bulldogs prevailed 2-1. The teams met again at 1 p.m. and Hanceville completed its unbeaten day with a 2-0 win.
Hanceville won eight of the nine sets it played Saturday.
Senior middle Kerrigon Moore, junior outside hitter Madeline Watwood and sophomore libero Makayla Butler were among the Hanceville players featured.
The four victories improved coach Morgan Hammock’s Lady Bulldogs to 5-8.
Hanceville returns home Tuesday for two more matches. The Lady Bulldogs are scheduled to face Vinemont at 4 p.m. and Appalachian at 6 p.m.
