A Heat Advisory is in effect for the northern 2/3 of Alabama through Saturday evening and may be extended in later updates.
Although South Alabama is not under an advisory, it will be hot and humid across the state throughout the weekend. Afternoon high temperatures will be in the mid to upper 90s today and Thursday, with lower to mid-90s temperatures Friday through Sunday. There will be little nighttime relief as overnight lows will be in the lower to middle 70s.
Afternoon heat index values will range mainly from 102 to 109 each day.
