Sue Rice Evans, 87 years old from Hanceville, Alabama, died on February 15, 2025, at home.
Funeral services will be at Moss Service Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2026, with Revered Danny Freeman officiating. The family will welcome friends and family from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. Burial will take place at Union Hill Cemetery in Hanceville.
Sue was registered nurse. She loved to cook and was known for feeding her community. She loved to read and tried her hand at sewing once she retired. She was an active member of the Cullman County Democrats and was a beat committee chairperson at her voting precinct for 50 plus years. She was a member of Union Hill Church of Christ.
Sue was born April 28, 1938, to Fannie Moody Rice and Elbert Rice. Sue was predeceased by her parents; husband, Daniel Evans; brother, Marion Rice; son, Blake Evans and grandson, Colton Evans (son of Brant Evans and Beth Evans).
Sue is survived by Sheila Miller Evans (widow of Blake Evans); son Brant Evans and his children Jesse Evans and Garrett Evans; son Drew Evans and his wife Leann Lamar Evans and their children Lauren Grace Evans and Landon Evans; daughter Brooke Evans Freeman and her husband Brent Freeman and their son Luke Freeman. She is also survived by her goddaughter, April White Bloomingburg.
Pallbearers are Drew Evans, Brant Evans, Brent Freeman, Jesse Evans, Garrett Evans and Landon Evans.
