Wallace State to host Innovations in Healthcare Simulation workshop

    HANCEVILLE, Ala. – Wallace State Community College will host Innovations in Healthcare Simulation on April 24, 2026, a professional development workshop designed for educators and health care professionals who incorporate simulation into teaching, training and clinical skill development. 

    The workshop will explore emerging strategies in simulation-based education, with objectives focused on integrating artificial intelligence to streamline simulation development, applying current research to enhance instructional effectiveness and strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration to improve patient outcomes. Approved for six contact hours through the Alabama Board of Nursing, the program will feature expert-led presentations, interactive breakout sessions and a panel discussion highlighting best practices in health care simulation. Poster presentations will also be included. WSCC’s state-of-the-art simulation center will serve as part of the event venue. The vendor responsible for the center’s design and equipment will participate as an exhibitor. Organizers have also built time into the schedule for professional networking and collaboration. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Early registration is available for $75 through April 14, and a detailed agenda will be released by Jan. 30. Participants are encouraged to register early to secure a spot at this event. The program offers pathways for certificates, associate degrees and bachelor’s degrees through joint enrollment options with UAB and Athens State University, mobility options for licensed health care professionals and convenient courses offered via hybrid and evening class options, as well as classes at the Oneonta Academic Center for the first three semesters of the program. The next application cycle will be from March 15 to May 15 for fall 2026 admission.
