
HANCEVILLE, Ala. – Hanceville Parks and Recreation is accepting applications for multiple employment opportunities, including one full-time position and several seasonal roles ahead of the upcoming recreation season.
The department is currently looking for a full-time light equipment operator.
According to the job description, the position reports to the park director and assistant park director and involves operating and maintaining equipment used in city parks and ball field maintenance.
Responsibilities include mowing park property, setting up and lining ball fields, transporting equipment and materials, performing safety inspections and completing general maintenance tasks such as trash pickup, restroom cleaning, spraying, carpentry and basic plumbing and electrical work as needed.
Applicants for the light equipment operator position must be skilled in operating assigned equipment and hand and power tools, demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills, be able to attend required meetings and pass a drug screening.
The entry-level pay rate for the full-time light equipment operator position is $14.78 per hour. Work hours may vary, with some overtime required and possible call-ins.
In addition to the full-time opening, the department is also hiring seasonal workers for concession stand and maintenance positions, as well as lifeguards. Seasonal employees help support parks and recreation operations during peak usage periods.
