Funeral services for Charles “Sonny” Nail, 83, of Hanceville will be 2 p.m. Tuesday January 20th at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Hopewell Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Hanceville Funeral Home.
Mr. Nail was born January 1, 1943, in Cullman, Alabama to the late James & Wretha Nail. He passed away on January 15, 2026, in Cullman, Alabama.
Mr. Nail is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Ellen Nail; children, Jennifer Hogland (Greg), Jeff Nail (Tracie); grandchildren, Hannah Brock, Jonah Hogland (Georgi), Nicholas Nail (Marissa), Nathan Nail (Sage); 4 great grandchildren; sister, Betty Duren; best friend, Rex Whitaker; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Nail was preceded in death by his parents, James & Helen Nail; sister, Edna Merle Price; and 2 great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Nicholas Nail, Jonah Hogland, Nathan Nail, Shannon Brown, Dawson McRea, and Brady McRea. Honorary pallbearers are Glynn McRea, and Rex Whitaker.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Duck River Baptist Church building fund, 2755 County Road 783 Cullman, Alabama 35055.
